As the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Zamia Composite Research and Development Technologies Inc., Assoc. Prof. Dr. İdris Karagöz possesses extensive expertise in biocomposite materials and upcycling technologies. He is a faculty member in the Polymer Materials Engineering Department at Yalova University and has held various managerial roles in the private sector for many years, including positions in production, production planning, and R&D management. By leveraging his experience in process optimization and innovative product development, he bridges the gap between industry and academia to create next-generation eco-friendly solutions.
Dr. Karagöz is widely recognized for his pioneering approaches to developing biodegradable composite materials from agricultural waste. Combining his academic and industrial expertise, he founded Zamia Composite with investment support from TÜBİTAK's 1812 - Investment-Based Entrepreneurship Support Program (BiGG Investment). Under his leadership, the company has been dedicated to providing sustainable alternatives to traditional materials by producing environmentally friendly biocomposites.
His vision is to drive the transformation of the industry through innovative and sustainable materials while minimizing environmental impact. Over the years, his awards and achievements have been highly regarded in both academia and industry.
