Assoc. Prof. Dr. Harun Sepetçioğlu is an academic specialized in polymer composites and nanocomposites, with extensive experience in mechanical testing techniques. After successfully completing a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, he focused his master's and PhD research on characterizing the mechanical and thermal properties of polymer matrix composites and nanocomposites.
He worked as a researcher abroad at the Functional Materials Center of the University of Louisiana, where he conducted studies on enhancing the surface morphology and wear resistance of nanocomposites, contributing to several articles published in international journals. Currently, he serves as a faculty member in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Selçuk University, where he teaches courses on polymer composites and nanocomposites and mentors students and researchers in mechanical characterization methods such as tensile, flexural, impact, and hardness testing.
In his research laboratory, Dr. Sepetçioğlu develops experimental protocols aimed at improving the mechanical performance of biodegradable composites, with a particular focus on the use of sustainable raw materials and environmentally friendly production processes. Additionally, as a member of the R&D team at Zamia Kompozit Research and Development Technologies Inc., he makes significant contributions to the design of eco-friendly material solutions and biocomposites. Dr. Sepetçioğlu conducts process optimization and innovative product development activities in alignment with the company's vision, aiming to strengthen sustainable innovation in both academic projects and industry collaborations.
